Drawing Hands (lithograph, 1948) by M.C Escher.
I have included this work because I like how it shows that you can make your self and your own life and how he explored mathematical issues and communicated them through beautiful drawings that can be understood by a larger range of people that may normally shy away from mathematical problems.

I included these works because I found them very stunning and loved how they encompass both my ideas of animals and hands together in a lovely and unique collection.

Poster for New Zealand sign language as sign language differs around the world just like another language. http://www.nzsign.co.nz/
This poster follows my idea of using hands as a form of communication in the literal sense.

‘Hand Soap’ by Marie Gardeski, made out of functional soap for your bathroom.

I liked the way these objects are usually banal and here have been turned into a piece of art yet still can be used as soap. It also reflects the idea how by putting something in a differnt context can make the object communicate something completly different.

‘All hail my hands’ By Lelo at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. From the Unurth series. 2009
Again working with the idea of hands and them as a sign of resistance in this case through the medium of street art. I also like the more graphic look here almost like layered cutouts.

The Blind: “graff pour aveugles et mecs bourrés” street art graffiti 2008
This image shows that the way in which language and communication can be received comes in many different forms, it makes the audience imagine people running their hands over it throughout the day taking different meanings from it or in the case of the blind a the only read communication.

A naked Chinese girl displays “Braille” inscriptions all over her body during at a contemporary art show by artist Cheng Yong in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing, 16 December 2006
I chose this image because it runs with my theme of commuication that can be expressed in many ways including sign language and in this case braille.
